Liquid Glass is AWESOME!!!
I was starting to get sick of taking care of my black truck....well I wasn't getting sick of it but it was becoming quite tedious.
Last night I got some liquid glass. Washed the truck with some dish soap to strip the wax and then the LG. This stuff is awesome. I can put it on my whole truck and walk away if I want then come back and buff it out.....I didn't do that, but I could.
I put LG on half the truck, then buffed it off. It came off extremely easy, then I did the other half. Then I wen back over it with a towel to get the extra dust off. The truck looks great...I am very happy with the LG

XLT-SPORT,
Where did you buy the liquid glass from ? I also have a black truck and have been thinking about doing the exact thing you did. I was wandering why do you have to strip off the original wax before using LG ? Thanks

I got the LG from Pepboys...$18. They recommend stripping off the wax for best results as it will 'bond' to your paint. The LG is not a wax, it's like a polish or somehting.
cool. i've been using LG for the past 2 years ever since i got my HD truck. works great and looks great. The reason you can't use LG over wax is because it won't bond right. the LG actually bakes onto your paint, and needs to bake in the sun for 4 hours before doing another coat. But its worth the 20 bucks a can at pepboys. I just got the zaino kit to give it a try, cuz from everything i've read, they have comparible shine, but Z seems to have teh vote swayed towards better durabiltiy, so i'm gonna test it out. I'm also gonna use my old hood as a test panel and do 1/2 in Z and 1/2 in LG to compare the shine.
Whats up Sweetheart

Does LG cover up/hide swirl marks too or did you use some kind of swirl mark remover before applying the LG? I recently ordered some Cherry Wet Wax since alot of the L guys really like it. I'll see how well that works before I try some LG.

I didn't use any swirl remover. I was gonna user Scratch X but I tested it in a small part on my tailgate and didn't really notice a difference so I decided not to waste my time doing the whole truck with it. I can't see any swirl marks with the LG
Hey harley...When you wash your truck in between coats of LG, is regular car soap fine? Also, I just LG'd my truck on Thursday and it's not dirty today(saturday). I want to LG it again....should I wash it again first(I'm worried about the drought = $1000 fine)

XLT, yeah i just used regular car soap, and it held up fine
if you want to do the truck again today or whatever, i'd say dust it 1st if you have a cali duster. They work GREAT! for keeping the truck really clean if you dust it once or twice a day until it the truck gets dirty instead of dusty.
I just noticed your in NJ. yeah this drought stuff sucks! I just did the zaino today (OMG what a shine!!!) and needed to wash the truck twice (dawn wash, then claybar, then their z7 carwash) so i had to fill up a bucket of water and soap, then drive up to the car wash, and just use their sprayer hose
Expensive just for using their plain water, but still cheaper than paying that huge 1st time fine.
but anyway, as for the Z, i did a dawn wash, claybar, z7 wash, then i did 3 coats of their z5 with zfx, and z6 qd after each coat. I'm definately sold! I still need to do 2 coats of z2 polish, and the shine is already deeper than the LG was. Don't get me wrong, LG was great too, got a ton of compliments at shows all the time, and is a great product, but the Z has it beat in my book. Reflection is a little better i think, and shine is deeper. Alot of work for the 1st innitial application, but it goes on and off a little easier than LG, so i could do probably 3 coats of Z in the time it took me to do 2 coats of LG.
but anyway, if you put the price and total time for application and results in relation between LG and Z, i'd have to say its pretty much dead even. LG is cheaper, quicker for great results, Z is more expensive, longer to do 1st time, but a little above great results IMO.
Not sure if i'll even bother with the LG vs Z on my hood. I can definately tell the difference, and feel it too cuz i didn't do my tonneau cover at all. only washed it cuz its getting replaced under warranty so there's no sense to it. So it makes a good enough comparison there (just can't express it in pics too good)
if anybody wanted me to throw klasse in the mix (and donate some) for the old hood, i would still do the comparison test, but if not, i won't bother.
just my .02$

Liquid Glass is still the best stuff around. Did eigtht(8) coats of it when the Lightning was new.
I use McGuires Wax Cleaner for removal of the minor rag scratches and follow up with McGuire's Gold.
This is the reflection in the door....

Hi Tampa
I'm trying to see if I uderstood you correctly...
Did you say you put the Maguires Gold on top of the LG?
Reason i'm asking is because I should receive my LG order this coming week.
My aplogies if I misunderstood your post.
