ExTang Tuff Tonneau III????????

I am in the market and hope to order this week and it looks like it is going to be the ExTang tonneau, Tuff Tunno III. For a couple reasons:

1. The overwhelming response on the site seems to be the ExTang.

2. I called ExTang today (6-17-02) and asked about the warranty. The web site states it is a 3 year warranty, BUT, the website is under some construction and has not been updated as of late. The warranty on the fram is LIFETIME and the warranty on the cover is now 10 YEARS!!!!! It is as follows:

Years
1-3 100%
4-5 70%
6-7 50%
8-10 30%

The cost of the replacement tarp is $99, so if I have to pay $70 for a new tarp in year 7, I think that is not too bad, um about $10 bucks a year??!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?

From the site, I heard the customer service department is OVER AND ABOVE.

If anyone has a picture of a Tuff Tonneau III on a SuperCrew, PLEASE post me a pic!!!!!!

Thanks!!

Joey "O"

Does anyone have any other info that may help!!!!????

Thanks in Advance!!

Joeeyo - let us know if you find a good price on this cover - I have been in the market for one myself. Wonder if this one has the same problems with the corners turning up??

I am planning on getting an Extang classic soft-tonneau. The one with the snaps. Do the corners turn up on these tonneaus? If so, would the tuff-tonno III be the way to go? Any help is welcome.

I ordered the TTIII from www.accessdirect.com and they had the best price on the web. It is supposed to be here today. I will post my opinion of it when I get it on.

Twistedfinn - are you sure about that link to Access Direct?? Tried to go there and it asked me to log into their network. Maybe they are having problems.

Tuff TOnno III

I have a TTIII on my regular 8' bed. I love except for the corners do turn up little. Also, the pads on the corners seem to be slowly working their way out. Like they're being squished out from underneath the frame. I've had it on for about 9 months now.

I've been thinking of getting one for the last year now as i'm getting tired of pine needles, leaves and twigs getting into the bed of my truck after a good thunderstorm.

This page tells you everything you want to know about the Tuff Tonno III. The only thing I don't like about them is that the corners work their way up. I'm trying to get rid of an Extang full-tilt right now. It fits a 97-02 F-150 short bed styleside. It has a "carbon fiber" texture to the cover. Let me know if you are interested in it. It is my personal cover that I have never used, it's still in the original box. Later!

i have the classic soft toneau, and its been on my truck for about 4 years now. the corners do not turn up on it at all. fits and looks like the first day i put it on.

i use 303 aerospace protectant on it every couple weeks, that stuff works better then anything i have ever used on soft toneau's. believe me when i say it gives it that new look and shine!

all in all, extang makes a great toneau, hands down.

I think $199.00 from a local guy for any Extang is too cheap, hard to believe! Black Max is about $214.00 the cheapest I could find and the Sabar is about $230.00. Might get the Black Max for $200 on the internet but then theres shipping. If you can get any Extang Cover for $199 jump right on it.Why are you waiting?
