Should I lift it??
Should I lift it??
I have a 97 F150 w/ORP and wanted some taller wider tires (285/75/16 or 305/70/16)...but I dont want the wheel wells to look full. I would like a good four inches above the wheel to the fender trim.
I am thinking about a 3" PA body lift...do I need to remove the entire bed to do this??
I also want to undercoat my frame with something like herculiner...should I do this when I lift it (assuming the bed must be completely removed).
If i do a lift...I will remove the entire interior to clean it and sound proof it.
What do you guys think?? Any cons of a body lift??
Thanks, Matt

A suspension lift and a body lift and I think it looks good. You don't have to remove the bed but you do need to jack it up to put the body lift in. After that, you should have plenty of clearance between the body and frame to do any kind of detailing on it. Hope this helps.

I am going to...
My girlfriend saw a truck just like mine with a lift and she said "DO IT!" Now I gotta, man I love her. I look forward to it and I will post pics when it is done (not for at least another 6 months).
285s or 305s??? Sounds like you are going to waste money. If you want to look big without any real mods like doing 6-7" susp lift + maybe a body means you are not dedicated in any way to doing it right. Why would you want to lift so little? Put that money into a superchip, intake, and exhaust. 285s or 305s are so mild that a body lift would make it look, pardon the next word, retarded. If you want a lift do it right. Otherwise, put that mild lift money into performance aftermarket stuff.

I want a 2 or 3" Body lift...
because I want wider tires than my 265/70/17 and the only way to do this is to get a taller tire. My stock tires already fill up the wheel wells too much for my tast therefore I would like it to sit up a few more inches. I have seen many trucks on here, such as StevensBlack4x4, with 305's and 3" body lift that look great. Don't worry about the money going towards performance products. After the lift I am going to do a true magnaflow dual exhaust, superchip, and AirForce 1 intake...add this to my 4.6L that is bored .030 over and she should do all right for a 4x4 truck.
I am not going for the "big truck" look...I just want wider tires and the right amount of space from the top of the tire to the wheel well.
