Question Another billet grille question

I am wanting to install a billet grille in my Screw, but I want to keep the ford emblem too. The ones that I've seen look like they would delete it. I also would like to put in a black ford emblem instead of the factory blue. How are you guys keeping the emblem?

When I installed my billet grill I also installed a new Red Ford oval. Looks nice with a red truck.

I recently installed a Stull grill in my Screw. I haven't decided whether to put a matching oval on mine or not. It's bare for the moment. I've put the blue oval back in the grill to look at the appearance. The factory oval will fit the Stull but would require minor grinding on the back side of the grill. The studs are a bit short as is. It wouldn't be much of a task. I wouldn't think this is the best application for double sided tape.

Grille

If you want a good looking grille with the ford emblem, check out this one. Even though chromed plastic, I think it looks way better than the billets.

To remount my emblem I used, I think they are called connector bolts or nuts. A hexagon tube with female ends which are threaded. They screw onto the emblem and then you put a wide headed bolt on the other end. Worked great. Guy at hardware store camy up with it. Very little cost. Maybe $ 1.00 - $ 1.50.

See this topic!!

SEMOScrew - what part of Mo are you in? If you're in St Louis area & want to see it, I'm probably gonna order one of those for stock, just to get a good look at it.
Email me if interested!

I called the local dealer and asked for the price on a 2002 HD grill. They state comes with surround and it is about $340.00 dollars. This is just unreasonable. Why doesn't Ford like people to fix up their trucks. GM has all kinds of things for their trucks. Ford like to make it hard and expensive. Takes the fun out of it. Is the grill you discuss earlier Ed appear the same as this? And where do you get the accessory handouts? Thanks.

When I installed my new street scene speed grille , I reused my old Ford emblem. I just reused the nuts that are on the back of the emblem. They will make their on threads so just tighten them down .

J Evans - Actually, Ford isn't really the one making it tough, it's likely the dealer or inexperienced / disinterested parts people.

Accessories are almost always obscure listings in the catalogs. If a partsman doesn't know about them, he's unlikely to be able to find it in the system. And how much time should he devote to finding something that may not even exist?

For instance, a remote starter kit IS available - but I defy ANYONE to find it w/o the paper brochure in hand showing the base part # (19G384)
The computerized catalog won't find it by a "search by partname" - typical for accessories.

And those brochures come in only one case annually, they go to the new car dept, and may never make it to the parts dept.

Anyway, my point is that a typical parts dept simply doesn't know, and may not have the time to research accessories, which are often "losers" anyway. Low markup, and non-returnable to Ford from the dealer. Yep - once we get it, it's ours even if the customer cancels!!! We've tossed a lot of out-dated "goodies" straight into the dumpster - unopened! (Anybody need Pinto floormats, LOL...)

**
Ok, enough of my rambling - if you want, I'll get the info Tuesday on all the Harley grills available - part #'s and suggested list prices.
Keep in mind that no dealer is obligated to sell at that though!
