Linetest,
Should of shown you mine the day we met at Costco you could have seen them first. You will like them when installed as the light is much better over stock. Wife had me buy a pair for her Focus after seeing mine while driving for awhile at night.

Listed.. the 9145 which is the bogus fog light part number..

The F150's and Exploreres take either the 9005 or 9006 for the fog light.. the 9006 has one slot inside there the connectors are.. the 9005 has two slots. Basically the only way to know what your vehical takes is to pull out the old bulb and count the slots.

Some do say 9006 on it though. Mine on my 97 f150 did say 9006. but my friends f150 which is a 99.. came up with the 9145 and was the 9005 bulb.

Hope this helps.

can the stock harness handle the silverstars in both the headlights and the fogs? i have had them in my headlights for a few weeks and love them, so i want some for my fog lights if the wiring can handle it

Sylvania DOES NOT make bulbs for the fogs...sorry to say

You have minimal options...

Either Hella or one of those generic companies from Japan.

Does the Sylvania Silver Star's put out more heat than the stock light's ?

Like Blue00 asked anyone know if the wiring can handle it ?

Even though they are whiter is the wattage the same as stock halogen's ? If so they should'nt be any hotter or draw more juice ...would they ?

Who make's the brighter back up bulb's that medic was talking about ? Are those Silver Star's too ?

Sorry about all the question's

Fall

FALLSCREW,

Yes they put out more light then the stock.

I pulled out a set of Flosser 100/80W lights that I had been running, and put these in thier place.

When I got one side done, I turned on the light, and you could tell the difference in the color of the light, the 100/80W hallogen bulb looks VERY yellow next to these, and seems to put as much light on the ground as the Silver Star bulb

The SilverStar 9007 bulb low beam each light draw 0.1 amp more then stock bulbs.
If you search on acrobat, and select the thread on Synvania bulbs, you will see the external link to the spread sheet that a memeber made up, testing the bulbs.

The 9007 bulbs draw that whopping 0.1 amp more, but the design of the bulb is different the a stock hallogen bulb, with the same wattage as stock, so from the posts that I have read, and the length of time that some have had them, I expect no problems with them.

The brighter back up bulbs are just hallogen replacement bulbs, several places have these, they are not a SilverStar product.
One that I found using the search term backup bulb gave the name of :http://www.hioutputbulbs.com/compt.htm , but I am sure there are lots of other places.
BTW : the ones that I got at the local speed shop did not do squat for the lighting on the SCrew lenses. I just added TruckLite LED backup lights. They draw a whole 0.50 amps each, and light the snot out of the area behind the truck.

The only question that is dumb is the question that is not asked.

I have APC 80/100w, and the Silverstars look like stock bulbs compared to them. VERY yellow light! Shocking but true. While they are much brighter than stock, the Silverstars are still yellow looking. Once I get home I'll be going back to my favorites, the eurolite fusions. They have the same output and color of the 80/100w APC's, and no worrys about the harness melting.,,,,98

I almost lost it when I reading the hype on Sylvanias site. They actually said the Silverstars were comparable to HID's, LOL!

I have the regular halogen backup lights from the auto parts store. From all their claims on the package, you'd think they'd light up the whole neighborhood. I could tell no difference from the stock bulbs. Maybe they'll last longer?? I'd lov to get a set that did what they claim. I have the dark factory tinted back and ext. cab windows, and you can't see much,,,,98
