Underbody rust care?

I have an 06 STX that I recently purchased. It has some rust on the undercarriage although its not terrible (at least not in comparison to my 99 Malibu). Does anyone have any experience or tips for removing or preventing further rusting underneath? Any suggested products to use? I recently had someone suggest a rust converter product like the one I've linked below, but would like some input first. Thanks

First you must remove any rust or grimes by sandblasting the under body's surface. It also should be protected with a chassis paint or an under body coating. For my truck I had mine coated with Chassis Saver.

POR-15 is designed to be used over rust, it doesn't work on sandblasted surfaces.

I also have some rust issues on my 2006. This weekend I plan to go under there and just brush POR-15 over it. I've had luck with this stuff in the past on my past truck. POR-15 is expensive but easy to use in that you just brush over the rust, no need to sand blast or anything like that.

A good alternative to por15 is the chassis saver. Much cheaper and a one step process.

You get what you pay for. That stuff works about as good as just spraying rustoleum over rust.

Por 15 costs more and isn't as easy to use, but if done correctly will stop rust for much longer. .
