98,

Is that on your truck or is the picture from proglass? Do you know is the scoop paintable or is it black plastic like the Boss 302 shaker hood? Do you have a picture of the air intake for the hood? Got to get one! Thanks.

Hate to say it but man that thing looks fugly. They should've made the scoop more rounded to match the lines of the truck.

Thumbs down

I agree, looks too generic. Almost like one of those Lund tape-on hood scoops. Just my .02.

It's all a matter of what you like I guess? All the scoops for trucks they make are the spitting image of their 60's/70's muscle car counterparts. I like it myself, but I am going that direction with my truck. Ala black panel hood, roughcast style wheels, and a few other 70's treatments. These pics are from proglass,on an Expy they were working on. The Chevy version looks like a Z/28(or T/A),,,the dodge looks like a CUDA',,and the Ford looks like the old Cobra Jet Mustang style. I don't mind seeing billet laden slammed trucks everywhere, but I want mine to look different from ANY other truck on the road,,,,,98

I gotta agree... I think it looks too plain... almost too small for that huge hood... it's definately got some potential, though.

Wink HeHe

I guess someone could cut the top of the scoop off and install one of those rounded pro stock scoops without the base? It would be a little big,but hey it would match the contours of the truck Please don't take this wrong way,I'm only joking,lol,,,,,98

I like it, but I think the scoop could be a little rounder, and taller. It's not quite like the old Mustangs. But close.

Is it functional? Or is it just for looks? If it is functional, exactly how does it work? If anyone can explain this to me PLEASE do. Thanks

Hey dsm327!

It is functional. The scoop and air box(which holds the filter) attach to the engine like an older style carb. air cleaner. The hood has a hole for the scoop
to protrude through. While you drive the air is forced in through the scoop, then passes through the air filter, and then into the throttle body. It is really pretty simple,it's the same as a cowl induction but takes the air in from the front instead. A cowl induction uses the the air being forced down at the base of the windshield to do pretty much the same thing. Hope I haven't confused you more. Here is a pic from under the hood(if I can find it ),,,,,98
