OEM Ford handles are a complete chrome plated plastic handle. If you feel an edge which makes the handle feel like a cap/cover, this is an aftermarket handle and can be peeled off the existing handle.

Ok thanks. I'll check it out. If not looks like I'll be painting them.

I actually like those personally, but some trucks come with that from factory. If it looks like there's a big lip between the back side of the handle's plastic and the chrome it's aftermarket. Otherwise, it should be factory.

The backs are not chrome. I can feel an edge just at the top as it curves to the back. So what's the best way to get the cap off? And how much glue am I going to have to dissolve?

If this is on your '13 and you know the truck came from factory like that, it's OEM and I'm not sure that you can take that chrome off while keeping it in one piece. Personally, I'd really really just mask it off and paint the rest.

No problem. I mixed you up with someone else that wanted to keep the chrome handle and paint the rest. You can attempt to remove that if you want, or just scuff it and paint it a black while masking off the rest, paint it all gloss black, paint anything body color, etc. Whatever you want.

Ok cool. I guess for now I'll leave it alone. I thought since it's just the handle pull that's chrome & not the whole thing, it was a cap that would pop off.
