Has anyone tried the ebay ptm door handles?

As the title states, has anyone tried these? I have mine off right now to sand but I don't think I have the patience to put into them to get them where they need to be. I happened to look on ebay and found these. Just hoping that they might work. If anyone has any experience with these please let me know asap so I can get them ordered.

Thanks.

Ones from Rockauto are even cheaper than that, and I'd trust them more. Some are only $12.50 a piece.

body exterior > outside door handle

As someone who removed his handles, sanded them down until they were perfectly smooth, and then painted them, etc. . . . it was a huge PITA. I sanded for probably 10 or 12 hours because I needed them to be perfectly smooth. And I still had a small issue with paint sticking at the very edge of the pull handle where it goes into the cut out portion on two of them. Very small, but still annoying.

I did? You just have to get all 5 "seperately." I looked a few months ago and just now and saw all 4 cab door handles.

Edit: yeah, have all 4 smooth, PTM handles in my cart right now for $55.92. Driver door has holes for your keyless entry too.

I just remembered that the site is weird about different years and engine choices. I looked under 06 for my truck, and the choices for 05 and 07 are completely different. Look under 2004 from 2008 and under all 3 engine choices until you can find all 4 of them.

The site doesn't change URLs when you go to different areas cause it's all just inside the "catalog" so PM your number or an email and I'll text or send you a screen shot of it. Email is easier.

Very last handle listed under "2005 FORD F-150 5.4L V8 : Body-Exterior : Outside Door Handle" is $25 and actually says PTM, smooth, etc. just to be safe versus the 2nd one in the pic I sent you.

Holy crap, they do! Stupid Canada warehouse. Just get the $12.41 one that doesn't specify then. It's picture is still the same shiny PTM when you click info on it. I'm trying to find all 4 that'll ship from E, but can only get the 3. Still, $16 for shipping ain't bad.

I'll try to stick to this instead of doing PM, email, and this haha. It's best for any folks that look at this in the future too.

You're welcome for putting the car together though. The front left says smooth, but not specifically PTM, hmm. Sanding is still an option though, just depends on how valuable your time is. Mine is worth about $10 an hour according to my job, so I sanded lol. Maybe start sanding one and stop if you want to die after half an hour?

Also, if you haven't gotten paint already and plan on doing it yourself, automotivetouchup base and clear with Valspar clear plastic primer turned out pretty darn good for me. Not 100% perfect, but better than I could ever ask from spray paint. Prep is everything though and I daily drive my truck, so having a shop do them was out of the question because of time.

I went back out to the garage and had a few beers, and just started sanding. I got through a couple handles with the first layer of sandpaper and it didn't seem too bad. Tomorrow will be a better test of how things are gonna go. My hands already hurt from sanding, so I can't imagine how they will feel tomorrow night.

As far as painting, I'm having a body shop do it, they are gonna shoot the handles when they shoot my new bumpers. That's why I'm panicking about getting them done/new ones. I don't wanna hold up the shop with me trying to get the handles perfect. I will see how tomorrow goes and figure out if I wanna order the new ones or just keep on sanding.

Thanks for all the help so far though.

What route did you go for on the PTM bumpers? New/used OEM, replicas?

I'm still on the fence between PTM or NFAB pre-runner for the front. I'm lifting with 20x12s, so I might need the NFAB to clear the wheels, but I prefer the looks of OEM PTM. Either way I need a new one cause some Dbag dented up my front bumper a month ago. Before that, I was likely gonna do a sandblast of my pristine chrome ones and then have them painted.

The handles should turn out nicely with the shop doing them! I'll be looking forward to seeing the handles and bumpers.

They are aftermarket. The front one is capa certified, so it's pretty close to oem. The back one is platinum plus? i think. The body shop said they both looked pretty good and they are gonna do both sides of them to prevent rust, especially since I work in a salt pit.
