Saleen Grill--Any left?

I know this is a longshot...but I'm suddenly desperately wanting a Saleen grill for my 04. I've checked and they seem to be out of stock everywhere. Anyone know of a place that may still have some or anybody selling one?

Thanks

Saleen's website has them. They brought them back for a limited run. I'm still not sure if they've started shipping out yet, but you can place an order. They jacked the price up to $300 though, which turned me off of it.

Thanks for the heads up guys. I emailed Saleen and I'm on their backorder log...said they should be getting them in 2-3 weeks. Haven't put any money down on it yet though. $300 is a pretty steep price for a grill but it might be worth it.

Yeah, I've been fighting back and forth about whether or not I'm going to get one, but I have too many high-dollar plans that are sucking up my funds. I know that I will want one eventually though, and the time to get one is NOW

2-3 weeks. I hope they hurry up, they've had my money for a few weeks already now.

True that, the time to get one is most likely now or never. I hope they get in soon as well. I recently got a tax refund, so with a bit more money I decided I was willing to pay now even though it is overpriced.

Called Saleen on a couple different days and a couple calls went silent after a few rings. The only time they answered, I was transferred to someone else that could talk to me about the grill and the call was dropped in the middle of the transfer. These people have horrible customer service.

Anybody think if I pre-order it now either by phone (if I can actually talk to somebody) or on the website that I'd have higher priority on that backorder list?

I would hope so. They take your money right away, that should guarantee you a grille. I dang well better get one before Joe Shmo who waited till last minute to get one

Ya true it should be a guarantee. I gotta wonder how many they'll make and how many people will miss out on getting one. I've heard rumors of 300-500, but who knows

At that price, they should make an excess of them, or enough to fill every order.

Part of what is keeping me from getting one is that I'm not paying money only to wait around for months and then have to FIGHT them to get my money back when they tell me I don't get one. I'm so on the fence about it, that if they actually had an "in stock, order, and it ships" option, I'd probably get one.

That's exactly why I haven't just done it yet. I feel like I'll have to spend hours calling and fighting them to get a refund if I get screwed over. If it wasn't for the poor customer service experience I've already experienced, I'd order one in a heartbeat.

Ha I can see why Stage3Motorsports doesn't have a good relationship with Saleen right now--at least that's what I saw in a Q&A section on Stage3's website. Man, am I kicking myself for not buying one when Stage3 had them.

However, in regards to waiting around for a few months, I don't think it would be that long just based on the fact that their timeline has been consistent on the estimation of when they'll have them. January they said about 4 months, last month said 4-5 weeks, and now they say 2 weeks...hopefully it won't be too far off from that.

Yeah, stage3 is great. I've order at least one thing from them that I know came in quickly, if not more.

At least they've been consistent with the timeline. I hope they end up having an excess that they'll have in stock and ready to ship. If we were 2 or 3 months ahead and I had my lift, etc. on and knew how much money I had in the bank, I'd be in a much better place to make a decision. Just don't want to spend the $300 and have that inhibit the purchase of something I actually need for the lift, or force me to spend more than I'd like to. Damned fiscal responsibilities . . . why can't I just be like an f15dy boy? Haha

Ya I've only heard good things about Stage3. Ironically, I almost bought the grill from Stage3 a couple years ago for $180 but passed on it because I didn't want to spend too much on my truck that summer...and now I'm about to dish out $300 for it. I feel you on the money thing though. I also want to get some new headlights with retrofitted HID projectors this summer which will cost quite a bit.

Checked out your truck and that's gonna look good with a lift. What else you gonna do besides the lift?

I almost did the same thing shortly after I bought my truck in March 2012. I decided I didn't need the grill at that point, and look at where I am now: same position you're in haha.

Thanks! As of now the plans are 6" Fabtech, 2" Autospring level (my truck is 2WD, so the Fabtech kit for me has full replacement 6" lift shocks and I won't be stacking spacers), 6" lift Skyjacker replacement leaf spring packs with 2" blocks (so 8" of lift front and back), 20x12 black Moto Metal 962s and 35s, and 4.88 gears. Then an NFAB front bumper if I need it to fit the super wide wheels, also because someone hit and ruined my front bumper right before spring break. A 3" body lift and retrofit will follow after that at some point, but lifting is my top priority.

I feel like a lot of people are in the same position we are haha.

Nice, I love those Moto Metals. I really wanted to do 35s and a 3in lift and 3in level but was told I would have rubbing and the 4 and 6 inch lifts were too expensive for me at the time. I'm happy with my 33s and level but part of me still really wants to get 35s. And more than anything I wanted to get XD Revolver rims but they discontinued the 6x135 bolt pattern.
