I have never found a good product for all pieces other than painting them with a plastic coat. There is a product that worked well for the bed rails called Restore Black by Bondo. However, I would not use it on anything but bed rails. It's a dye, and has to be redone about every 6 months. I painted my cowl and to me, that is the best solution.

I use Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant. My trim isn't faded badly, but does darken it a little and lasts about 2-3 months.
Lots of good products here:http://www.autogeek.net/wolfgang-trim-sealant.html
Solution Finish and Tuf Shine in the link above are quite impressive.

Otherwise painting would likely be your best if you want something really permanent, prep is key though.
I bought some Turtle Wax restoring product that seemed to work pretty good. Makes the surface really slick though. I would be weary of putting it on door handles and such because you might end up punching yourself in the face.
I used a couple rattle cans of Rustoleum truck bed coating. It worked awesome. I've had it on the truck for 4 months so far and I can't tell if it has faded yet or not. It leaves it with a gritty surface kinda like sandpaper (if that matters to you or not).

Aside from painting the pieces, there's not really a long lasting solution that I've found. Plasti-dip is really good stuff and once it's good and cured it will last a long time, however it's a flat finish if that matters.
Here's what I've used. http://gtechniq.com/shop/3s-for-cars...trim-restorer/
I used it on my previous car - a 2007 BMW X3. It dries with a wet look and repels water. Looked like new for over a year, but then I traded her in for my F150. It's expensive but a little goes a very long way. I plan on using it on all my plastic parts as soon as I get a nice warm day....

Stoner Trim Shine. I buy it at O'Reillys Auto Parts. Spray it on and walk away. Lasts six months to a year and then buy another can for $6 or so and spray it on again. And walk away. Best stuff I've ever seen for restoring the parts back to showroom finish.
They also make a glass cleaner called Invisible Glass that is the best glass cleaner I've ever found.
Haven't tried their Tire Shine yet but I think I will now that I'm so impressed with the other products the sell.

you have to use what color your trim was. its not for changing colors.
