Use fishing line and kind of saw through the double sided tape, or a flathead screwdriver with a piece of cloth in between it and the paint and pry them off from a corner. I've done it both ways... flathead is a lot quicker, just a little nerve racking on the first badge.

And using a heat gun helps heat up the left over adhesive tape, and using bug & tar remover right after its warmed deteriorates the tape pretty fairly and makes an easier clean up.
Definitely use something to heat it up. Or at least wait for a warm day.
