Damaged B-Pillar Door Trim Fix - Inexpensive and look great!

I have a nice 2004 F-150 Screw that had some hail damage to the B-Pillar Door Trim. If you have had the unluckly hail storm or ding on these trim panels or just want to change the look, you will find out they are expensive and take some work to replace or have replaced. Ford wants $50 apiece for these and you need 4 of them plus installation so you can see it can be costly.

I was searching the Internet for options and came across Pillar Covers on eBay. These guys make overlay trim pieces, computer cut for lots of vehicles and have multiple finishes to choose from.

They are made out of a high quality 3M material and I chose the carbon fiber pattern. Below is the link to the product I purchased.

Here are a couple of pictures of before and the other side done. Very nice product and under $36 dollars for all 4 trim pieces. Easy to apply and look great. Install from start to finish took about an hour for all 4 to be applied.

If they make plain gloss black ones that aren't OEM for $300 I need some, badly.

edit:

They do make them in gloss black!!! Hope they are of high quality, I will be buying a set!

it doesnt look to me like they really hide the hail damage though. Looks like I can see a dent in the left column, about mid way up on the right side. I bought a new gloss black from Tasca for my platinum and it was pretty easy to change out. I think the cover looks nice, but if you have a dent, it doesnt look like it hides dents.

You could probably do a rough bondo job before you stick the cover over the dents

Yes I will let you know. From the OP's post they look like they fit fully well on the OEM panels. They had a $28 off sale which ends tomorrow or today, so I jumped on it. $38 bought and free shipped. Should arrive in a couple days.

Hey guys, one thing I agree with is if the damage to your trim is more serious these covers will not hide all of it. I chose the carbon fiber pattern just for that reason. MurphM I can see a couple of dings if I look close but by far and away this fix covers the majority of the damage really well. Especially at the price and look great. The idea of spot putty or bondo first is a good one but will certainly take more work.

Good luck with those that are giving them a try!
