windsheild tint
my tint guy has 35% on the front with the rest at 20% and it looks great. the hid kit for 100 bucks seems so far to work great the guy at work put it in his dodge ram on friday and says he loves it. its bright but not crazy theres no way in hell im spending 500 to 1000 dollars for head light bulbs(HID nation hid kit will work fine for now) i would much rather do suspension or performance upgrades for that much cash but to each their own.
retrofits are only around 300, nowhere near a grand. haha but 39%? is that a typo or did you do layers? lol
MATHEMATICALLY my back window is .01%, my sides are .015% and my windshield is 25% with 5% brow but due to variances in manufactures and age of film the real world numbers vary. on my moms truck i put 20% on the front sides to match the factory glass and did 50% on the windshield and its about right for a "practical" set up that doesnt draw any attention from the police. if your sold on using PnP kits, just aim them down so you're somewhat courteous to other drivers.

was planning on adjusting them towards the ground so im not blinding anyone. The only reason im tinting the windsheild is for looks i only drive the truck possibly 1 day per week and its stored all winter so i wont be blinding that many people since i dont really drive at night with it much.
you'll love having it done each time you drive it. i went a little extreme on my truck but i have all of our other vehicles done 50% except my gf's g6 which has 30% with another layer of 20% over the already existing 20%.
So you tint the windshield, then brighten the headlights so you can see at night while the brighter headlights blind others?
That is so ..... "sick" ..... I like it.

I sometimes felt a bit "sympathetic" towards some people over my career ...
... but those whom I just called a wrecker for a tow off the highway to a shop or wherever the owner wanted to pay to go after I wrote them a ticket or three and took the tags for improper equipment or unsafe conditions do not have a place there. Side tint didn't get a tow often, but tinted windshields did often enough unless the owner showed a desire to remove said tint post haste while I wrote the ticket before calling a wrecker.

Out of state vehicles just got the ticket (as no authority to take their tags for equipment existed under Va state law) and a chance to remove the problem when a serious safety issue (as is the case with double 50% tint ... or 35% tint on a windshield) ... some got a second ticket a mile down the road instead.

This is not a flame or slam against anyone here. Not at all .... if your happy and it's OK every where you drive, all is OK .... I guess?

30% the whole windshield and you will love it. thats what ive done on all my vehicles. well all but one, i put 15% on one and when it rained it was hard to see out of. i love 30% and thats what i would recommend.
I have 5% all the way around and 35% on the windshield.. I've had it this way for maybe 2 years now. I still love it. I've upgraded my headlights to Phillip's Xtreme bulbs and put some Headlight bulbs in my fog's.. But that was only done in the past 4-5months.
A lot of pictures, but hopefully it gives you a good idea.
Pics taken when I first got it done... Album

Comparison, 5% on side, 35% on windshield. Its about 6pm and raining.

I uploaded a couple more to my photobucket account: Here I thought I had a video of driving at night, but I can't find it.

cops who write tickets over useless stuff like tint need take a trip down where all the community druggies hang out and do something worth doing. things like window tint and loud music are not that big of deal as long as the said driver can still see just fine. colored tag lights are another pet peeve of mine, cops give tickets to people with colored tag lights while allowing people without tag lights just cruise on by and turn their head to the problem. bottom line, i feel like cops only write stupid tickets because they forget who they are and let the badge get to their head and pretend like they have never done an "illegal" modification to their vehicle. most cops side windows are darker than the states legal limit anyways...
sorry i got off topic: rant off.
