i saw a new f1 driving the other day and it had the mirror with the smaller blind spot mirror built in and i was wondering ... does the glass out of the 2011 f150 with the small blind spot mirror fit into the housing on the 04-08?

 

The glass dimensions are the same but the power motor mount is the real question, as also if the heated function would work too.

This is probably for our benifit only, because the OP doesnt seem to be around anymore lol, but the motor mount part callout numbers from '04-'12 match up, so I'm thinking it would be as simple as getting a new piece of glass. Though I can't seem to find that particular piece of mirror glass on Ford Parts for either the '11 or '12 YM....I'm gonna ask the dealership in the morning about price. I want the integrated BSM, but not if it costs north of $50.

 

Did you ever find out what the cost is for just the new mirror glass? Do you have a part number. I want to swap my the glass our of my '10 FX4 with the new glass with build in BSM.

 

Yeah SG, but you aren't going to like what I found out.

JUST the glass is $322.79 on Ford Parts Online, and runs about $274.95 if ordered from the dealer. It comes with heated, turn signal, and about 30 other options. The passenger side glass (that does not have the BSM) is $52.00. If I decide that I NEED the BSM, I'll go to Wal-Mart and buy one of the circular ones with the 3M backing lol.
