Hella 500 or 500FF
Hella 500 or 500FF
Ok,
So I am wandering what the difference is between the Hella 500 and the 500FF's.
Other than the lenses, I can't see a difference. Both the boxes say that they are a driving light. and do all the same stuff. So I don't know.
Thanks!

Neither. Both are 50 watt driving lights. Unless thats what your looking for they arent very bright.
If your looking for a more high powered off road light then look into something made for that. Like a PIAA or KC. Your going to pay about twice the price but your not getting a driving light, your actually getting an off road light that is purpose made, and not made to be used as a fog light.

I'm actually just going to use the housing of it. I'm planning on putting HID H3 bulbs in it.
I just can't figure out what the difference in the bulbs is.
Both cost the same at Walmart.
48 for the 500 and 49 for the 500ff's
On My last pickup I had KC Slim Lights with the 130 watt Long Range Pencil Beam. I told my self then, I would never buy another light. They were the best.
But I thought I would give this a shot.

I have the 500FF. I like the housing better than the regular 500. Like stated the FF is more of a driving lenses while the regulars have a fog lenses on them. I put brighter lights in both of mine when I got them, would like to eventually upgrade to HID's in them.
Yes the housings are nice looking.
If your on a budget now and want lights then I would say get them, then save up some more cash for better and brighter bulbs if your looking for an off road style light. You'll have almost the same price into them as a set of PIAA's but at least you can have the lights now (im bad at this, I need everything right away I hate waiting haha)

I like the looks of Hellas more than any other out there. They are just a lot more simple looking, and no metal to worry about eventually rusting up on them.
Plus you can buy nice off-road wattage bulbs for cheapp. You can buy a set of hellas with bulbs for much cheaper then a piaa package.
