Recon 3rd brake light

Thinking about getting the smoked recon led 3rd brake light.
question for those that have it is the seal good quality in other words
will I need to seal it with something else or will the seal that comes with it work. Also are they bright? And do they already have the think that keeps it from killing the cruise control?

I think that is about it just want to make sure they are good before I purchase.

I love mine. Nice and bright and I haven't had any leaking or cruise control problems. I just simply plugged mine in and screwed it back onto the truck. No problems.

Was looking for the same unit. Looks like an official Recon unit too.

Do you simply remove the two screws and plug this in or is there more involved with this model since you are not re-using the bulbs for the dome light?

nope. just take out the two screws, reach behind the metal part leading to your headliner (kinda tricky, atleast it was on my 2004 two door), unclip the the factory harness, plug the new clip back in, and put the screws back in. then your done. pretty simple. on my truck i took out the dome light and reached through my headliner which made it ALOT easier since i have big fingers. lol

I love mine! No leaks at all. Installation was a pain, I had to pull down my liner in the cab to reach the wires to plug in but it was worth it.

Quite often the ones from Ebay are 'seconds' from Recon. I purchased one from Ebay and the fit wasn't good at all (could have been just my luck). Anyway, got one straight from RECON and fits perfect and no leaks.

I might have to get one of those, as well.
It looks WAY better than the stocker.
