6k v. 8k cant decide. need pics
well the 55w would be for my truck which has projectors. i'm just looking for a better look and brighter lights for my moms truck that i sometime drive. and no im not some 30 yr old loser that still lives with his mom, i'm only 17. haha
heck yeah. i run the 35w for normal local driving so i cant get more color out of em since i hear 55w washes out some of the color. i gotta take my truck tuesday to have it looked at, it's drinkin gas like a ****. lol ALOT more than usual so i'm gunna have the rear end fluids changed and change the oil and check the fuel pump, fuel lines, fuel filter, and injectors all at once. lol idk whats causing it but its definately puttin a dent in the ol' billfold. haha
Aftermarket headlights with projector housings (like those sold on ebay) are often designed for the stock halogens and still scatter light everywhere with cheap HID kits. 55w HIDs should not be used in them. In fact, HIDs shouldn't be used period in that situation unless you do a true retrofit swap.

off to finish mine now!
This is a fad that I hope goes away in a hurry.
oooooooooo kay cool guy. we all know how this argument will end up. hids in stock housings are ricey, unsafe, and all kinds of crap while retrofits are gods gift and anybody who has em is the best person ever and bla bla bla. like the original post stated, im going to retrofit this truck. everybody else who posted on this thread knows retrofits are better, we coulda lived without that comment. i'll do what i want with my money, and you do the same. to each his own. have a great day, sir. go play with your lights hand made by god himself.
x2. All it would take is a little enforcement from the Police.
bla bla bla. we have guys with green hids in our town. so like i said, i'll do me, and you do you. have a nice day
I LOVE IT! post pics somewhere when you get the light bar installed!
Hey thanks man. i have just been trying to figure out where i would mount the ballast at. However i am sure i could figure it out. it would be a fairly cheap project though.
edit:
I have to agree with a couple of these guys though. I think some of these lights look just horrible and can be very unsafe. I aimed my lights way down. i have spot lights and high beams for when other cars are not around. I also painted my housings which helped with the glare a tad. If retrofits werent so damn ugly i would love to do projectors, but they are absolutely hideous. just my two cents. The fact of the matter is, they CAN be very unsafe and its a really easy way to get a ticket.

6000ks.
DDM. Better have your OEM filaments in the console for when they fail out on you while your driving at night. OneTouch is a good flashlight app to help you change back roadside.
