If you go no higher in Kelvin rating than 5000k, aim your headlights down, and try every possible way to reduce glare, your on the right track. The main reason people don't care for drop-in HIDs is because of the "blinding blue" associated with them. If you take the right measures, you will be OK. it's still not the best way, but it's a start. Gives you time to save up for a retrofit kit.

Got the HIDs installed...look good. My next investment will be retrofit headlights for the HIDS.

Good deal. Glad you liked them, and good to see that DDM didn't mess up anything like I've been hearing people talk about in the past

but can hids be used without retrofitting and a angel eye lens? I mean I know they physically can but Im saying will they always, even if they werent a cheap china kit, give off a terrible glare and such?
Basically Im asking because although I dont want to offend people for the most part, I think that the angel eye is kind of transformer"ish". Even quality kits will be terrible for other drivers right?

No matter how high of quality your HID kit is, as soon as you place it in a reflective housing, you will create glare, especially if you do not have a glare shield to cover the bulb tip.

Nope, DDM was spot on. They have some quality products, I don't know why everyone keeps bit*hing about them.

Better stop bitching on the forums cause there's thousands of other drivers doing the same thing.

Nobody is bitching.....just bringing reality to the fore front. It's your truck, do what you want to with it.

Unfortunately, this is true.

There are also many thousands texting while driving (in fact, that issue has now superceded DUI's as the #1 risk factor in my area, and likely others).

My point is, neither is the right thing to do despite the demographics.

[ The old '10 million flies can't be wrong' adage, lol ]

On a side note, the design of the stock reflectors vary widely between vehicles - some appear to more readily 'accept' an HID bulb with less resultant glare, while others exacerbate it. The F150 reflectors are in the latter category.

Attempting to educate (whatever method is chosen) is not 'bitching'. However, 'whining' is still nothing but 'whining' and 'denial' is still ... 'denial'.

I'll have to agree with Sam though - these things will likely be legislated off the mod landscape eventually ... just a matter of time ... members here, and I myself, have had close calls from other's lighting catastrophies.

why did you buy HIDs if you are going to switch to projectors? you just wasted your money because the projectors and your HID kit are not compatible
