Bull Bar debate....

ight guys im looking at getting a bull bar for my f150 and have narrowed things down to 2 choices...Westin or Aries. I have always bought westin products and love their stuff but i talked to a guy today who said westin aint what it used to be and I was just wondering which would be the best option. Westin bull bars look awesome and really hug the bumper good, I need some feed back from guys who have Aries bull bars or from people who know about them. The aries bar is a pretty good bit cheaper, i just need to know if Westin truly is the better product or which one will look better as far as fitting snug on the truck. (its going on an 01 f150, and im looking at getting a black bar)

I'm not sure if you are hung on the two brands you mentioned, but I bought this Steelcraft (stainless) bull bar on Ebay, for $170.00 with free shipping.

I don't have one or the other yet. But I've always liked the Westin my self.

They look very much alike but the Westin skid plate sells me on it.

Will both brands hug the front bumper the same or does the Aries sit out further?

Regardless of which one you choose, for those who need to have a license plate up front..
Do any of these bullbars have relocation area's for the plate built into the bars or do you have to kinda fudge it on there somehow? And afterwards are you left with no tow hooks?..

I understand the function of the bull bar but how many are buying the bull bar because of aesthetics? I just see it as interference while washing and waxing the truck.

My Westin bull bar came with a license plate relocation bracket. I can't remember if it was an additional cost, but I do remember you were asked if your state requires one when I ordered it. I never did install it though. And yes, you will have to remove your tow hooks to mount the westin bull bar. It mounts in the same holes on the frame as your tow hooks.
