Scratched Running Board

Was at the Wal-Greens drivethrough today, and being that the drive through is in an awkward spot, a parked car was blocking part of the exit of the drive through. I kept the truck as close to the parked car as possible, but still had to turn to the right to clear it, and get out of the drive through. I thought everything had cleared, but I clipped the back of my passenger's side running board. Now I have a nice scratch/gash, and some scuff marks:

Does anyone have any products/recommendations I can use to help cover this unsightlyness up?

Sorry Had too.

What is the running board made out of the actual body of it? Is it metal, steel I would think. I would think you could re-paint with some Krylon if you had too

But I would look into buffing it out if it is just a scratch.....

Not really sure what it's made out of. The parts that are scuffed and scratched appear to just be polymer(plastic).

oh that will be harder to "buff" out

Not too sure what you can do to get it Smooth like factory. I'm sure if you repaint it it won't be quite as noticeable b/c it won't have that white line there.

Don't think you'll be able to "buff" out plastic. Have you tried cleaning it and dressing it? Might get rid of the white line. If not, maybe a little sanding and then spray paint it.

Lick your finger and smear it on the scatch. If the scratch goes away, lightly sand and spray with a clear coat.
