My new lights

I recently picked up a set of Hella 500FFs to put behind my grille. Well i fabbed up a bracket and got them all mounted and they look great. Only problem is it keeps blowing fuses and i have no idea why. i followed the install instructions as best i could. It came with a plug and play wiring kit with a relay. I have the relay plugged in and the red wire going to the battery, blue wire grounded to chasis, black wire goes to the lights, and the yellow goes to the switch. The fuse on the red wire that goes to the battery keeps blowing. When i first hooked them up they were working for a few minutes. I turned them off and back on again and thats when it blew. Did i wire something wrong? i have never had a problem like this before.

Is the ground actually touching bare metal? Is it isn't gettig a good enough contact, it will keep tripping the fuse because it's not realizing the ground is there.

well i got the lights working. no more blowing fuses. I think i had the individual grounds for the lights too close together and they were making contact. i still need to get some HID bulbs to put in them, but these halogens will do for now

1-i dont see why the blue wire would be your ground....black is supposed to be the ground wire.
2-grouns too close together shouldnt matter as long as they are grounded. i have had 4 grounds from different things including a 760W amplifier on the same ground with no bad effects. a ground is a ground. biggest problem i had was finding a screw that was actually made from METAL!!!! i ended up drilling a hole in the floor and putting a screw in it and throwing the wires under it before i tightened it. then on another install i used the metal screws under the dash above the gas pedal. that was my 04 heritage i had. so far my 08 just has my halos to a toggle. toggle is grounded under the dash, halos are grounded under the hood.
