Fog Housings melted, please help me out.

I recently bought some putco bulbs for my heads and fogs. I thought I would be ok running these because they are only a like 42Watts. Well, after a week or so of running them I noticed my fog housing are melting. Im going to purchase new housings, but my question is....what bulb can I get to run in my fogs that WILL NOT melt my housing BUT will match my heads?(white with a hint of blue).

Thanks for any help!

I'd run the stock bulb, but that's me.

with the fogs, i had the same problem with the housing melting when i 1st started using hid's. the lens started to warp, so what i did was ordered new housing and switched from 8000k to 3000k bulb. i think i kept the wattage the same. i dont remember. but they still do get realli hot.

Was my only suggestion for the bluish hue, high light output, and no housing melting.

I am using DDM Tuning HID's in my foglights. I went with 6000k 35W bulbs. Each bulb has it's own ballast. Do a search for some more info, there is tons on this site on this subject.

You can get them at ddmtuning.com

DDM is having a sale. They have slim and the big ballasts. I got the slim because i didnt notice the heavy duty ones. It comes with everything. I got 35W 6000K. Just select the type of bulb (whats in ur truck now) and ur Kelvin.

I would do 9145 silverstars in the 06+ fogs or 9005 in the 04-05 fogs.

If you wanna go the HID route, H13 for the heads and H10 for the fogs.
