Tinting help

I have some options on my window tint.

currently i have 5% on the back three windows and somewhere between 20-30% on the front two windows. and nothing on the windshield

Im getting my windshield replaced saturday so i want to get it tinted and i have some options. First off i know its illegal and understand that and so if you dont like it just refrain from posting in this thread.

I either want to get my whole windshield tinted or get an eyebrow.

If i get the whole thing done im not sure how dark i should go. i think max ill do is 30% but idk if id even go that dark. any personal experience is welcome.

or should i just do a 5% eyebrow that is 7-9" from the top of the windshield?

anyone that knows the south summer heat will understand my reasonings. also with the whole thing i know i will have to keep an area clear for the registration and inspection stickers but other than that is gps mounts fine? (its gonna be on tint either way

Hey anything is legal as long as you don't get caught. But I had a friend once who had his windshield tinted (it was a light tint) and also had the eyebrow (a dark tint) at the same time. By doing both you really couldn't tell the the windshield was tinted.

Very true didn't really think about that one. Other than the stickers I guess it would be really hard to tell

Ha yea it's been nice out but when the truck sits put since I don't have a garage and the windows are up it gets pretty hot.

Plan to recharge my ac also to help out more but I can't stand how much sun gets in from my windshield

I've been contemplating doing a layer of 50% over the entire windshield for a long time now. The only thing that bothers me is that I've read where insurance companies refused to cover a claim due to a tinted front windshield.

If you were to tint the entire windshield I would definitely do the eyebrow as well to keep it less noticeable.

Lightbulb Window Tint limits

Hi Jake, well it's true that in most states, tint on the windshield is not allowed.
Have you checked the current tint limit in TX? You may check the check the current legal window tinting limits for cars at http://www.TintBuyer.com. They also gives information about tints like its types, quotations and help locate the best window tinters near your area. I hope this helps
