Black Door Handle Covers?

I just bought my '05 FX4 from the dealership on Friday. It came with the chrome stick on door handle covers. I am not a big fan of chrome so I took the covers off. Come to find out it looks like the previous owner had a dog that liked to chew on the door handles of his truck So, I would like to put new door handle covers back on.

Since I do not care for the chrome look (hence I bought the FX4 with the painted bumpers) I would like some door hadle covers that are either black, black chrome or grey to replace the ones I took off.

I did a lot of searching on the forums, ebay and some other sites but could not find any black covers.

Any ideas or help would be awesome.

Thanks!

Wish I would have seen this last week. I took mine off a couple months ago and sold them just now on eBay for $4.99. Sorry.

Did you have black ones? Where did you get them from?

They dont sell black covers. You have to get the chrome covers and paint them or have them painted. The body shop painted and cleared mine.

The ones I sold were stock on my truck. You may be able to get them from Ford Parts counter. You might also try a junkyard.

You could buy the stock textured ones and have them sanded and painted- too expensive, you could buy the harley davidson smooth door handles- too expensive. OR you could just buy the covers and have them painted for cheaper all together.

Don't they make just the handle part the the lariats in chrome... just take that sand it yourself and paint it.. but it might look a little different if the rest is textured.. It didn't take me to long to sand my handle covers and paint them.. pretty easy..
