Exclamation HID Questions

Hey!
Well I'm not new to the site, but I am new to HID's.
I have recently had a headlight go out on my 01 Screw, and I was wandering about putting some HID's in it.

Can someone tell me what the differance is between the 5k, 6k, 8k, and 10k?
All i can tell is the color. Can you guys also provide any pictures of all these different colors?

Also I have no clue what the differance is between 35w and a 55w.
Can you explain to me what that is too?

Thank you in advance!!

The Poolboy

Here is a picture off of the DDM Tuning website that shows the different lighting colors in the two different watt ratings. The amount of watts a bulb puts out is the power. Not much help, but hopefully the picture will assist you some in the search for what you want.

i got the 6k 35w from ddm tunning and to me the 5k and 6k are the brightest with the 35w, after 6k u started getting deeper in color and start loosing the brightness, and the according to ddm tunning the 8k 55w is the same in color as the 6k 35w, the wattage is just putting more power to the bulbs making them brighter and whiter, the 6k 35w is a common HID kit to get

i put my 6000K 35w DDMs in today and they are awesome! i definitely recommend them. mostly white but a tint of blue. and like truckin said 8 and 10000K are darker blue and harder to see with. 5000K is pure white, and 4300 is slightly yellow and are closer to the color of halogen bulbs but alot brighter

I just put 4300K or maybe it's 4500K bulbs (which ever DDM sells) in my 07. I can tell you there is NO yellow. They are much whiter then even the Silverstars they replaced and those run at 4000-4100K.

Whatever brand you buy, make sure you get a good wiring harness with a relay in it, especially for lamps with high beam/low beam patterns.

4300K - 6000K will look like OEM anything less or more you lose white....

If you go with DDM make sure you keep the control unit away from water not waterproof.

So if I go with the ddm tuning Kit, it has a few different options. It let's me choose the color and watt, but when it comes to bulbs it gives 2 options. A 9007 and a 9007 hi/low. The high low kit is 20 extra dollars. If I go with the single beam, would the lights just shut off when I flash or accidently hit the brights?

i had the low beam to start with and yes if u get just the low beam then when u flash ur lights or turn ur high beam on ur lights will go out and on mine i had to reset the head lights to get them back on, i would recommed geting the hi and low beam, that way everything stays working proberly and u can still flashe ur lights at people if u need to, i also wired up my fog lights to stay on with my high beams so they dont go off when i switch to high beams

Yes. they will cut out.

I have the 8000k bi xenon from IntenseHiD.com they are a blueish purple.
My friend used to have 5000k. holy hell were they white and BRIGHT. he only ordered the single beam light, and lost his highbeams.. he then bought 6000k bi xenon. they have a hint of blue, and now he has high beams again.

8000k is plenty bright.

If you Google " Bambi Mod " that should explain everything.

It's really not too hard.
