hey guys I am just about to install my recon xtreme, and was wondering what you all did for the 12V constant. I have an XLT with 4 pin flat connector.

Had mine on for over a year with no problems and no close calls with rear enders ... Many think I'm a cop because I have the bar as well as the Trail FX Black brushguard which many emergency services have something similar attached to their vehicles. The light bar is marketed as a anti-collision light which does it does seem to meet. It's great when the weather is poor ... stands out and makes others take notice! Has worked well in cold and hot weather.

glad i found this thread. i'm just about to pull the trigger on a new light bar to replace my old one. i was nervous about recon quality cause i've heard plenty of bad about how their products hold up, plus the reveiws for this bar online are pretty mixed. hearing alot of good about it here so i'll probably order one tomorrow. but let me get this straight... the running and brake lights just plug into the 4-pin, and the reverse i'd tap into the driver side reverse light, correct? thats how my old LEDglow bar was. but where do i hook up for the scanning turn signals? i heard i'd have to run the 12v source to the battery..

just took the bar outside and tried hooking it up just to the trailer pin, and nothing lit up on it. do i have to have the red 12V hot wire wired in somewhere for the whole bar to work or is that just for the turn signals?
