Just a heads up cause this same thing happened to me, but the bulbs are the same for both the 35w and 55w kits. The only difference is in the ballasts. That's what they will tell you when you call. I put mine in and they are fine. When I bought my kits from DDM, they sent me a broken hi/low bulb, and when I got the replacement set,one was also broken, so it took two sets of bulbs to get one functional kit. Painful, but boy are my lights bright now.Worth all the hassles.

I didn't think running a 35W bulb with a 55W ballast was good for the bulb? I mean it's possible, but the bulb won't last as long. I thought they made actual 55W bulbs to be used with the 55W ballasts?

At least that's what I remember from Todd (the RS seller) as well from what I've read on other forums. VVME and Retro Solutions both sell separate 55W bulbs. Lemme check others...

Just got off the phone with them and tech support said what sledman says is correct the wattage is whats going through the bulb. He said that was correct I said I'm not gonna void my warranty or anything if they blow he said know that's all covered under the Lifetime Warranty

Same thing happened with my replacement bulb. Is it a sticker on your bulb that says 35w?
I called to tell them they sent me the wrong bulb (again) and he asked if it was a sticker. He said they had a shipment of 55w bulbs w/ 35w stickers on them. He also said that even if it was a 35w bulb, it would be fine w/ the 55w ballast.
So far, so good.

Yeah starting to notice that, but only reason I went with them is their strong following from other members...for example Mblouir has had his a year now nothing has gone wrong (knock on wood) and he had great shipping experience with them I think it is because of the holidays that screwed them up I may go with retro solutions in the future...my buddy wants to get HIDs and I suggested DDM & RS so well see what he does

What was the problem? I didn't see before you edited it. Was it something about the 55w bulb saying 35w on the box/bulb? If so I noticed the same thing and e-mailed them. Like he told you, though, it's what goes through the ballast, not the bulb.

I take it you got them in, though? Did you install them yet?

Yeah dude the Heads are PURRRRFECT !!!! I went with the 6000k 55w the 35W 5000k are a little blueier than I thought that'd be. But yeah what you said above is right...I got the bulbs and they said the same thing you did...so its all good I'll get some pics tomorrow it's cold as B@lls out side... yeah the install was a breeze I installed the ballasts with industrial strength velcro....still got to go redo the fogs so they are watertight I ordered two plugs to just do it directly

Cool deal man. Yeah I used velcro on mine, too, and they are holding fine. It would be a beast to fit a drill in there to screw them on. Glad to hear you got them and everything worked out.
