DDM and HID Kits and questions
First can someone please confirn this is the kit I need to order from DDM?
http://www.ddmtuning.com/index.php?p...=101&parent=85
Next does this sound correct for the heads and fogs the bulb type?
5000K 55w H13 Hi/Lo for the heads and 5000K 35w H10 for the fogs
Next the Bulb color for example 5000K-8000K is just the color correct? So the higher the number the more blue/er it is? Can anyone tell me why you would prefer one over the other? I would think the 5K would be brighter since there not suppose to have any blue in them?
Anything else I will need beside those wire splice things. Not sure were they go but hope they have directions on were to be spliced into which wires on the truck.
Does anyone have any step by step pics on the DDM Kits on how to wire the heads and fogs in there profile for the 2004 and newer trucks?
Also this might sound stupid but I have a remote start on my truck with my head lights come on and my fogs blink when started with the remote or it may be just the blinking fogs. Will this cause any problems with running HIDS?
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

Here's two links ^^
Also just FYI my 5000k fogs are a little bluer than I thought, if DDM sent me the right bulbs, but I possibly would think of 4300k it is more light output, I think if you want a lot of usable light I would go with 5000k or 4300k, if you want a tint of blue go with 6000k my friends excursion was 6000k and it was perfect
55w filters out some of the blue so i got the 6000k heads & 5000k fogs
I will let you know how the heads look when the new bulbs get in on monday
**this is from what I've read and had buddies with HIDs tell me

Is there any way to disable the blinking fogs/headlights? It's bad for HIDs to turn off/on quickly as it doesn't give them time to warm up/cool down.
It's also the reason why I don't run my headlights on Auto, since it turns on the HIDs as soon as you put the key in ON, then they shut off when the key is in START, then back on when in ON. It doesn't give them enough time to turn on, and they don't get the required voltage to ignite as the truck is starting.
Go for 4300k or 5000k for most light output.
The wire splice things connect the 2 wires with prongs with the factory harness. Or, you could just get a relay kit like this:

Plug part number 5 into one of the stock connectors and cut off parts 1 and 2 and splice them with the wires with the exposed prongs. That way you'll have a relay and you won't damage your stock wiring.
Here's carolinaboy's picture from the other thread (I hope he doesn't mind me using it), with everything "connected." The two prong things are the ones you connect/splice with parts 1 and 2 in the relay picture.

Thanks guys I really apperciate it!!!
carolinaboy32 make sure and let me know again how you like the HID heads when you install them and the color. If they match the fogs or lean one way or the other.
When you took that pic with one fog HID and the other was that the stock or silverstar bulb just curious. I have silverstars now.
ELVATO i think Im going to try like others and not buy the relay kit. Because you have to buy 4 correct, one for each lamp? $$$$
I guess what I dont like about this whole thing is the Disable Perimeter Lighting and having to find a way to keep my fog lights to stop blinking when using my aftermarket remote starter. I havnt used my stock remote keys in 2 years and hope they still work or wont interfer with the aftermarket remote started if I use them to disable the Disable Perimeter Lighting.
Can someone actually tell me what kind of frame rate this HID will last if you dont do all of this disabling stuff above? I mean like will it hurt anything on ther truck if I leave everything like they are now and just install the HIDS.
Are we talking 5 years if you dont disable the stuff or 10 years life if you do? Also regardless they have life time correctfrom reading other post correct?

No, only 2 relays, one for the fogs and one for the headlights, which if it's bixenon, it should come with it, right? At least I think it does for some companies. In the relay picture, the connectors labeled 1 and 2 go to your left and right fog/headlight kit, or the 1 and 2 I circled in the second picture.
As for the blinking, I don't know of an exact figure, but I do know it's very bad for the kit, especially the bulbs. Yea, they have lifetime, but it might get annoying replacing them often (assuming they only last you months with the blinking.) Or, for all I know, it might last you years without giving you problems.

ELVATO thanks again. Yeah if you click on my link above it dgoes to the Kit Im thinking of getting but doesnt say anything about the relays. Now if it would help to get them so I wouldnt have to disable my blinking fogs with the remote start I wouldnt mind it.
I also have to think since I park in the garage my head lights come on all the time because the auto sensor being its dark in the garage everytime i start the truck even manually. So is that a big deal?
carolinaboy32 if mblouir doesnt chime in I may PM him. I think Im going to call DMM also ask them a few questions.
Thanks Again guys!

There are two kits you can buy from them. I got the Raptor one and couldn't be happier. They are bigger, but I just mounted my ballast on the inside of the fender well. There was plenty of room on the driver side for both. On the passenger side I mounted my headlight ballast on top of the Washer Fluid container and my fog ballast and relay on the inside of the fender well. If you get the high/low kit it comes with the relay. I got the 5k heads and fogs and they match to the best my eyes can tell. Pure white. Have a hint of blue when first turned on, but once warmed up there isnt any blue. Hope this helps. Brent

Would this be the right connector? http://www.amazon.com/Pico-9005-Head...2895448&sr=1-8
Thanks for all your help man, and no I don't mind you using my pictures
The connector you listed is the female connector, and it is what is on your OEM wiring. What you need is the part that goes into that. Here is a picture of my VVME bulb (my Retro Solutions bulbs is similar). Notice the circled part. That is what you need, the male part. The second picture is a close up.

Not sure why DDM is cheap and just leaves the prongs exposed without a connector.
Here is the connector: Click Me
That was the first one that came up, you may want to shop around some more. What you'd do would be cut off the prongs from the bulb and splice the male connector. Try to make is as water tight as possible (in case water splashes on it), and secure it somewhere.
