05 Foglights

I have an 05 FX4 which has the rectangular fogs and one of my bulbs went last month. i know its 9145 or 9140 or something but i read here that i CAN use 9005's. Princess auto has a set (2) of 9005's for 9.99 but there 100w. and to replace with a regular bulb its 13.99 for 1. Im pretty sure it was mentioned that the stock is 40w, so i just wanted some opinions or peoples dealings with this.

Normal 9005 are either 55 or 65 watt. I think a 100 would melt even the rectangular fogs. Something the normal 9005s do to the round fogs.

The 100w bulbs are extremely hard on your trucks wiring. You can use either a h10, 9140, 9145, or a 9005 bulb. And get some HID's now. It is well worth it. I reccomend www.retro-solutions.com. But DDM Tuning is have a sale and you can get fogs for 35ish I think.

Shoot, I don't think I'd even run 100W in the headlight housings...

If you want to stay halogen, get SS or that one ebay brand that some people were running here for a bit (I think the bulbs were like 13 each and were similar to SS.)

I just put silverstars in both headlights and fogs. Drove last weekend in a snowstorm at night and had excellent light with low beams. No need for high beams at all.
