installing led taillight bulbs

so i have an 01 supercrew and i got led taillight bulbs, i already searched around quite a bit and haven't really found anything, but how do you get to where you put the bulbs in? do you have to take the taillights out?

most likely like in my 2005 f150 u lower the tailgate and take out 2 screws on the side of the taillight. then pull the taillight directly away from the truck. could be a little snug.

Throw those things directly in the trash, that's where they are the most useful. I can't believe how much the light output is reduced by those damn "bulbs".

yes when it comes to our reverse lights, incandescents put out a more wide spread view

I just installed Silverstar bulbs in my reverse lights and they are a/b 20% brighter than stock lights up everything behind me really well

Advanced Auto, & Autozone has them, I like them better than LEDs personally...they were $8 much cheaper than LEDs too

The filaments appear brighter cuz they do a better job of filling up the reflector behind the bulb, something most LED plug ins can't provide. OEM LED plug ins out of a moutaineer/late model mustang, are much brighter than stock. Alot of guys on the ranger board I'm on swapped in the ford LED bulbs with superior results.

I used to run some led plug ins from ledtronics.com, they were as bright if not brighter than the stock bulbs. Whether it's worth the $$ is pretty subjective tho

You need your reverse lights to light up the road behind you?

Nah I dispute the light output. I have some LED reverse bulbs with 63 LEDs in them and they are much brighter than stock. I can see the xtra light they emit in the side mirrors as well as light reflects off anything near the back of the truck.

I agree with screwed, the right type/design of the LED bulb will blow anything stock out of the water.

The bulbs are model 3157 with 63 LEDs and are like $20 for a pair. I bought them from an Ebay seller called US Home Direct. They have fast shipping and the lights are very bright.
