Retro Solutions 6k or 8k which to get?

I'm going to be ordering my kit from Retro Solutions in the next couple days and can't decide between the 6k or 8k. I'd just like to see some actual installed pics on our trucks, so I can decide. Sorry I know this is like beating a dead horse with all the HID threads around here! If you have Retro Solutions post up!

Excellent choice by going with Retro Solutions. I've owned several different kits over the past couple of years and the only two I've been completely pleased with is the Retro Solutions kit and a Xetronic kit. Todd is a great guy to deal with as well.

With that being said I've got an 8000K 35w bi-xenon kit in mine from Retro Solutions. I just went outside and took some pics but for some reason they tend to look much more blue in pictures than they really are. Don't get me wrong they do have a slight blue tint but not quite as much as it appears in pics.......

I found this one on my computer and the color of the headlights looks much more accurate than the other pictures. I'm not sure if it has something to do with the picture being taken right at dusk or what.......

FWIW, a 55W 8000K kit will resemble a 6000K 35W kit......

No it wont. A Retro-Solutions 55w 6000k is a 6000k color. If you want white with a hint of blue then get 6000k. That is what I chose. I have them in my off road lights, fog lights, and head lights. All 55w kits. I have also had other 35w kits of multiple colors. I personally like the 6000k as it works well in all weather conditions, looks great, and doesnt look like you have after market HID's. They look more natural and dont scream "look at me I have blue lights".

Retro Solutions and Todd (the owner) are great to deal with. The customer service is excellent and the warranty is backed 100%.

Not trying to argue, but a 55W HID kit will have more of the blue color washed out due to the higher amount of light being pushed out.

As a spot light begins to die out, what color does the beam turn to from white? Same deal....less power means color distortion.

So am I going to gain any light output from the 55w kit? The only reason I was going to go with it is because the price was only like 8 bucks different and when I talked with Todd via email he said that the 55w slim ballast would not give any radio interference. I want the lights to have some blue in them, but not an ungodly amount.

But the differences in 55w 6000k and 35w 6000k is not the same color difference as 55w 8000k and 35w 6000k.

Here is an okay photo. I will run outside and get some better photos in a min.

Yes there is a difference in light output in 55w and 35w outputs. Go with the 55w's.
