They just fit into any drill and are def worth the money, less than 10 bucks if I recall.
I'm guessing thats what I used to. Dunno what it was called, it was just what my bro said they had/use at their shop for getting that type stuff off. Kinda hard rubber like wheel. Worked soooo much better then anything else. Just keep it moving or it can burn into the paint job.

Just use 70% isopryl rubbing alchohol to remove the sticky residue. Just be sure to use ammonia-based glass cleaner to clean the aftereffect so when you apply new badges the residue from the alcohol dosent un-sticky them

See this is why I tried to find a current post, most I've found on this subject are from the late 90's. That rubbing wheel is right up my alley..I spent long enough just taking those emblems off, I don't need to spend a lot more time removing the left over glue. If I had known what a hassle it would be I would have just taped and painted, well live and learn. Where are the rubbing wheels available?

Long story short its much easier to carefully tape everything off you dont want to paint.

Or you can look at getting an emblem overlay from patriotdecals.com

Here's a silver one i had on my silver truck before it was totaled.
none of my emblems had nuts on the back of them. all of them are just stuck on. they do have alignment pegs though, but they arent holding them on at all
