cowl pannel question

Well, I was cleaning my truck the other day, an 05 SCREW, and the weather stripping on the cowl dry rotted so bad it crumbled to pieces. I tried to get new ones from Ford, and they said I have to buy the whole cowl, which would cost $200.00 Anyone else have this problem? How do I get just the weather stripping? I went to the junk yard and got me one for $75, so now I have and extra, but no weather stripping. I painted the one I got from the junk yard since it was all faded and dirty and painted my wiper arms. It looks so good now.

Mine are rotted off my 05 as well. I'm going to get a Street Scene solid wiper cowl painted to match. No more ice cube trays.

I have an 05, bought mine used and they are rotted as well. I painted my wiper cowl and just left the rotted peices off. I might replace them one day but its not worth the 200 ford charges for the whole wiper cowl.

Here are the before and after shots. Notice the before where there is no weather stripping. I think I used the wrong clear coat, but that's the only clear spray I could find in town.

nicely done...your original photo was a lot worse then mine. Def. needed to paint them with the amount of oxidation that was going on. 100x better imo

Has anyone ever found the weather stripping / gaskets for the 05 wiper cowl?
