On the chrome Roush's? Care to explain more? I can use all the advice I can get. ...And actually on that note, I've noticed my grille starting to crack in a few places. Nothing major, but as you made it I figured you may know a good method of repairing it. It's still one of my favourite mods and I'd like to keep it in good shape. Thanks!

PM me pics of the grill

Wire wheel will help break up and destroy the rest of the chrome if you're trying to get down to plain alloy

New Headunit?

@Patman, Just PM'd you - thanks

So I'm signed up for Crutchfields emails and I saw this today.

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113DDX2...od-DDX272.html

It has good reviews, I like the way it looks and it would mean I could move my current headunit to the Camry (and it would fit my colour scheme a lot better there). Anyone have any thoughts? I know really little about audio stuff.

Hopefully next update will be with progress

Finally bought Lug nuts, will have the wheels on soon.

Also I'm not saying that I'm doing this, but I'm totally doing this.
Picking up the parts to start tomorrow.

Stay tuned.

Alright cool cats, updates as promised.

Firstly the iPad install. So far this is going to plan. iPad 2 Mini acquired, and electrical diagram planned out. Just need to buy an amp - thinking 5 channel so I can add a sub later if I want. But I'm not an audio expert so if any gurus want to chime it that would be cool.

Next the Roush 20's project...

So what I learned today is that sometimes it's better to keep saving and get something you know works, rather than get something cheap and try to restore it yourself. But at least I learned the lesson on something that wasn't *too* expensive.

Anyways, one of the wheels doesn't hold air. I found this out as I went out to work on them today and one was completely flat. I know it's the wheels and the tires are basically brand new and I haven't driven on them at all yet.
So at this point I need to buy one wheel. The problem I have with that is after stripping and prepping the best that I could I'm still not thrilled that the crappy original surface is visible under the paint (plus I'd rather have silver wheels over black at this point).

What I'm thinking is, buy a new wheel paint the rest of them and put them on the truck. They aren't perfect; but they will look better than what I have now (stock 17's), they will lower it another quarter inch or so and I'll have new tires (my current fronts are badddd). Then eventually pick up the 09+ Lariat 6-Spokes that I wanted in the first place and keep the black Roushes for winter wheels?

Lariat Wheels for reference:

Anyway here's the painting pictures from today. I just did one wheel, as if I totally hated the finish I wasn't going to waste my time and paint on all four.

...again it's not really what I wanted, but I guess I'll roll with it for awhile. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Hope all of you are well.

Edit: Ordered Lug Nuts and Caliper paint. Still need new brake pads and to find a 4th Roush wheel. If you've got one you'd like to get rid of, please let me know! Thanks!

Looked at the dipped wheel a week after painting. It doesn't look good. Just looking for new wheels at this point. More of wait than I wanted, but I know I won't be happy with those Roushes.

Hey all, sorry I haven't updated this in awhile. Just working a lot and then some. haha anyways, pretty exciting news.

I've had the truck nine years come August - which blows my mind. But it's finally starting to look like how I want it. I would like to go lower, but it's good enough for now.

That being said I have to figure out what's next

...and if anyone is wondering, the wheels are 20x9.5" Enkei ST6.

Thumbs up

Exciting news!

I still have the truck, I want to be very upfront about that. I love it, it's paid off- and it's worth much more emotionally than financially.

That being said, not having a backseat, and only getting 14-16mpg isn't the best. So, here's my new daily:

2016 Subaru Crosstrek Special Edition (One of 1,500 in North America).
And as I work for Subaru, I sold it to myself. Believe it or not I got a pretty good deal! :P

But it's hard to beat Full-time AWD and 30+ MPG.

I'll try to keep this thread still focused on the truck, but as I had brought up my Toyota in the past I figured I should mention what replaced it. I finally realized that it was far beyond my skill level, and one of those if you love it let it go moments. Someone in Illinois is rebuilding it right now.
