Cool Emblem Dilema

Hello guys, Im new to this forum, love what I'm seeing so far. I have a quick question, I'm debating on blacking out my current emblems, or ordering the new 09 emblems for my 05. I think the new emblems look great and cleans up the fender nicely, on the other hand if I black out my current ones it saves me like 60 bucks, Ive seen pictures of both and love both ideas. I cant decide, since we all love the f150 what would you decide?

I painted mine black, but they did not look right because you could not read the words from a distance. I ordered inlays and overlays from Patriot Decals to match the color of my truck and now I think they look great. The full set of inlays and oval overlays cost less then $40.

Here are a few pics before the inlays:

Here is what they look like now with dark shadow gray inlays:

What process did you use to paint them? I was considering a similar setup, painting mine black and using inlays that match the truck.

I have always found that you should get what you want... unless you will always be thinking what it could have looked like. THe nice thing about your situation is that you can black out your current emblems while you wait for the O9's.

I like my 09 emblems by the way.
