Does anyone know, on average, how many coats of paint are applied at the factory. I am planning on purchasing an FX2 grille and was wondering how many coats to apply to the grille sorround to match the rest of the truck. A friend of mine already has mixed me a small batch of paint that matches the factory paint. I just need to know about how many coats of it and clear I should apply.

 

just do two or three...depending on the coverage, if not keep spraying it. Remember the more the better. Then don't orget to clear it three or four coats for added protection and gloss!
