Headlights leaking!!!

So i bought the ebay harley look alikes awhile back and they started leaking so i took them out put them in the oven to open them up and discolored one of the lense. Soo i buy another set and get them on friday, i open them up to paint the reflectors and make sure they have a good seal, i even ran a bead aroung the outside edge and around where the headlight bulb twists in on the back to make sure. I have them on for one damn day and go out there this morning and what do you know, one headlight is fogged up. !!!! What do i have to do to get the fogged lense clean with out opening them back up??

take it out and pull out the light, use a hair dryer to get rid of the condensation.

Agreed.

Also if you havent ran a bead of silicone around the outside since opening these new ones you can try that. Also check any of the bulb locations to make sure everything is seated properly.

Should have bought the OEM Ford Harley Davidson F150 headlights in the first place.

I learned my lesson buying ebay junk fake HD's, went with the real deal instead.

My point is you get what you pay for.

did you clean out all of the old adhesive on the groove before re-sealing them?

i used adhesive caulk to put them back together and ran a bead around the outside.
i also taped off about 1 inch away from the caulk bead (to cover the clear lens) and painted the caulk bead with 5 coats of Krylon fusion, be sure to leave an inch or so of clear lens to be painted so you get a good seal..

if i can find the pics of when i did it i will post them for you.. but i would try what the guys said above.. dry the moisture and re-seal them, then do what i suggested and put 5 coats of Krylon Fusion over the calk bead

I will try the hair dryer and i will pain the bead also. I agree you get what you pay for, but that would only apply if when i got them i stuck them on my truck without doing anything. But i opened up took all the old adhesive out and sealed them with a load of rtv sealant.

Like was said above fix the leak (silicone the edge) then check the bulb fittings.

First thing I do when I get anything off ebay is check the quality. If I see any issues (i.e. every lamp fixture I buy is silicone before install) I fix them and then install. Ebay can be great and give nice little gifts or it can be a STD passing ***** that cost you a lot of time and money to fix.
