Thumbs up Projectors Installed !

I just got my projector headlights that I ordered from K2motor.com and they are excellent! The halo and the LED lights have a separate power and grounding wire which I just plugged into the driving/turn signal lights, but besides that it was plug-n-play! I love them. I just need to angle them down a bit because of the lift kit. Here's some pics!

Ok stupid question: so the Halo/Progecto part is powered by LEDs or what? I think they look great and want to get a pair. I just don't understand how they work/what they are.

The halo's are powered by the parking lights. The low beam bulb sits behind the projector. The projector creates a very focused beam, with little to no light scattering (This applies in OEM applications, aftermarket projectors are iffy and sometimes are to cheap quality to help at all). They're especially useful when used with HIDs, since HIDs scatter a lot of light when used with stock housing.

They are h1 HID bulbs but I do not have the HID kit because the housing is not made for temperatures that hot.

it says on the top of the headlight assembly to not use HID lighting because it will melt the housing. The housing gets hot enough just using HID bulbs that come with the kit. I could get a different projector dome thing that is a different color to get that effect but using a real HID kit higher than 6000k would melt the assembly. That's what the company told me. But I don't like 6000k anyways. I like 8000

HID bulbs run at a cooler temp then halogen bulbs.

Do you have an HID kit or not? What do you mean using a real HID kit? Do you have a fake one?

Lets correct some bad information here...

You can't change the color of the light by changing the projector. The projector simply focuses the beam.

6000K does not refer to the operating temp. It's the color temp. 10000k is not hotter then 8000k.

Ok...well it says on top of the assembly with a caution sticker in 3 different languages to NOT use HID kits with the headlights. And K2 Motor, who I bought the headlights from said it would melt the assembly so I don't think I'm going to take that chance.

So you don't have an HID kit?

he housing gets hot enough just using HID bulbs that come with the kit.
