HiD and Hella Light Project

i'll get that light output asap
mine are "driving lights" which are beams with very slight spread
in Texas, driving lights are legal as long as they are adjusted below a certain height and angle. so check legality for that too
I redid the headlights, cooked em, got em open and painted them black, just like Harleys

what do you mean by legal...like you can legally run them on the road...or legal as in you can have them on your truck and pass inspection?.... my aftermarket hid lights in m headlights are illegal...so i really dont care either way i just want to light up the night...impact do you have any shots of your POV at night...bad *** truck.
ps...how did you seal that hole that you enlarged to fit the hid bulb plugs

i sealed it with some plain old electric tape, going around the wires and sealing that hole up to protect from water and dust and whatnot
by legal i mean as far as the cops are concerned, which is different for every city really
as far as the legality thing, I really didn't care so im with you on that, i mean i passed inspections with that exterior painted
like I said, ill get that output pic up pretty soon

heres the thing about he H3C versus the H3:
yes the H3C is shorter
the only benefit is this: because the bulbs burn so hot, it can turn the glass of the lamp yellow if it is too close and is on for too long. I ran mine for 2 hours straight (with the H3) without any issue, mine are 35 Watt
If your going with 55watt I would for sure get a H3C

okay i see.... what beam pattern did you get? I'm thinking about gettin the euro beam pattern...my headlights are aimed really low so i need either pencil or euro beam...
So i should order the hella 500 and a hid h3 (normal h3 bulb)
I don't want to sound like a smart *** just to inform people that think HID are going to melt their lights (the only thing leading to melting of lights is that the hid bulb is usually longer than standard halogen bulbs)...i just have taken a ton of physics classes....and 35watt halogen vs 35watt hid will uses the same amount of power...and if the HID produces 3 times the light energy than a standard halogen that means it produces 3 times less heat energy than a halogen. (Same thing behind fluorescent and incandescent bulbs in your house.)

I'm not going to say, don't do it. It's your truck and you're the one that will get the ticket. If you want to waste your money on badly performing headlights, go for it. I've already made that mistake and removed them not long afterwards (I had a 6000K HID kit from EuroDezigns). It was a massive waste of $230 CAD.
Anyways, do what you will, that's my $0.02.
