FX2 Grille Questions/Help

I just received a FX2 grille without the surround. I own a 06 FX4 S/C and want to switch grilles. Can i use the surround from my FX4 H grille? And I also noticed most of the clips had been broken off when they took it out it looks like. Will this fit in my FX4 surround, and does the broken clips on FX2 grille going to be a problem? Thanks in advance for any help or pictures of the switch over from FX4 to FX2 grille.
Cheers Al

You can indeed use your own surround. Now if the grill you have has broken clips, that may be an issue? You may have to figure out a way for the grill to stay mounted to the surround.

Well i did ended up using my surround like you suggested. I managed to take the H grille out without breaking one clip, looks like buddy that i bought it from didn't take his time i guess. With the clips saved on my surround, it does still click into place, but not overly tight. So i used this product called GOOP. It's a adhesive/sealant and bonds to anything. It turned out pretty good i think. Thanks hivoltage. Cheers Al

I know, it would save my over $200 if i painted them. I just don't want to screw them up. I'm pretty handy and could probley do it. I'm just worried about getting a good reseal so no fogging or leaking will happen. Have you done this to your lights before?

Nice! I really wanted the FX2 grille for mine because I thought it would look better than the chrome but I couldn't find one for anything. Dealers wanted over $200 and it still had to be painted. Looks great though!
