Got another HID kit
Got another HID kit
I already have 9006 4300k from Retro Solutions in my lows, but all these people getting HID kits made me want to get another HID kit for the Expy. Ordered a 9005 4300k kit from VVME for $61 shipped. Ordered at 3:00 AM on the 23rd, and it got here yesterday.
The original plan was to put them in my high beams. I drive on dark roads every so often, and I wanted all the light I could have. But, I ran into some problems. First, I wouldn't be able to flash people if I needed to. Second, the passenger side wouldn't stay on. They would flash, but not stay on. Apparently, the Expys have a weird electrical system, since the Retro Solutions did the same thing, but on the driver side. Had to put relays on the Retro to fix the problem, even though they still do it every so often.
Another observation I noticed was the fact that the VVMEs are less blue than the Retro kit. My friend always said my Retro kit didn't look like a 4300 kit, I guess I see what he means now.
Either way, I ended up putting the VVMEs in the fogs, and they fire up fine now.
I'll have pictures up later. I'm planning on doing the fog mod later tonight, so I'll try to get some pictures of that, too.

Go to our link it should help you better understand the different between HID bulb temperatures. http://www.xenonlink.com/product_inf...roducts_id=107

Here's the kit

The inside

I have a vid of them starting up, but youtube is being stupid.
Either way, something I forgot to bring up, though I'm sure it's been discussed before. While I had my headlights out, I decided to to a little experiment. I've currently had 9005 SS for around a year. My friend had a spare set of semi-new 9005 Ultras. I figured I might as well do a little comparison. Can anyone guess which side has the Ultra (looks at the high beams). I couldn't tell a difference.

As for what color the 4300k VVMEs are, they are kind of in between what the Retro Solutions 4300k and the SS's in the high beams are.
Oh, and before I forget, I didn't notice any FM interference when I had the VVMEs on (both with and without the Retro ones on.) Just thought I'd let you guys know.

Heh, kinnda funny the Retro kit did what I was talking about earlier. As you can see turning them off, then on again solves the problem
Either way, the headlights still were not in place, so that's why they look like they glare. Also, the color is slightly off, as is the case many times with AWB.
And yes, I plan on doing the fog mod tomorrow.
