Front license plate holder removal

OK after all I have gone through to get my Westin Bull bar painted and lights installed I cannot figure out how to get the front license plate holder off of the bumper to put the Bull Bar on...any ideas other then cut the tabs off? Looks like you have to remove the bottom valance - I tried to pry it with a screw driver but the plastic is pretty tight between the bumper and valance and was boogerin' up the paint/plastic so I stopped

Thanks in advance for any assistance !

I just pryed and ripped mine off with no problems. I live in a state that does not require a front plate so I was not worried about damage to the plate holder.

The previous owner of my truck had already popped off the tabs off top so he could use an aftermarket lower billet grille. All I did was tear it off. The bottom tabs are relatively weak.

Ditto, although I did try to get it off for future use but after 10 mins pulling won out, then it went to the trash.

License plate holder is off with no damage - just grabbed and pulled out gently...pulling pressure regulated by Corona

Thanks for all the posts !!!
