Problem with a Hella Blackout headlight :-(

Well take a guess ? Yep. The dreaded water leak, causing the inside cover to fog :-( Just put them on a few days ago, and it flat "never" rains here in July.....
But I went and got the truck washed today, and bam, fogged out drivers side :-(

So anyway, I'm sure they will replace it.... But I'm hoping they will send me another one "and then" I can put this one in the same box and send it back. I don't even care if they charge my card for the replacement "and then refund after they recieve the bad one back".... I just don't want to put the factory ones back in at all.

Will let you guys know how well they take care of me on this issue. Oh... I got them from Autoanything.com.....

Peace,
Fish

Chris,
save your money and time and go get a tube of fishtank sealant from Wal-Mart. take the housing it out and blow dry it inside (on warm) until the moisture is gone. Then run the sealant arount the seal between the clear and black part. Took me 15 minutes. Never leaked. they have even been power washed.

Man...I am going through that right now as well!!! I bought my Hellas about 2 weeks ago from Amazon and it has been raining here the past couple of days in Raleigh and my driver side has got moisture in it! I called Amazon and I should have the replacements today. They won't charge my credit card unless they don't receive the faulty lights in 30 days. Now I have a dilemma, do I change out the passenger side with the new set or just leave it because it appears to be fine. I just don't know if the new lights I get today might be the latest revision. I read on the forums somewhere that they made some changes to the lights. ????

Seal them! Do a search and you find alot of threads saying you have to seal them. Just seal them, swap them out and be done!

I know.... but my thought on it....Is shouldn't have to do anything to $200 dollar headlights. Ebay replicas yes (you get what you pay for) I go put sealant all over them and they by chance still leak I run into a problem with returning them under warranty. again a pair of Ebay knock-offs (no warranty)

I couldn't agree more. But it is an investment and eventually, they will not have a warranty.

I sit here chuckling over this thread. I bought the Ebay knockoffs and haven't had one single problem with them. Its only funny because everyone keeps knocking them. Sorry you have had bad luck with them. Good luck with your replacements.

Knockoffs are never the same as the real thing, trust me. I bought OEM HD heads after struggling with poor quality knockoffs.
