I was planning on buying it and painting it to match my truck (my trucks silver) do you guys think this looks too rice? I also wanted to have a decal installed on the cowl itself reading "5.0L"

 

Unless you have a blown or turbo'd engine, yes. Everyone that sees that hood will assume some type of major power train upgrades...and you will poorly represent Ford when you get schooled lol

 

Nope, its not blow or turbo'd. Yeah...i kinda thought that too. Like i said, im no ricer but when people see a cowl hood the automaticly assume "thats supercharged because he couldent fit the entire supercharger under the hood"

Nothing ricer about it. I have seen several of them on Lightnings. They look good.

 

I have to agree. Go for it. I think it would look really good. Rice is when something is put on a car that just doesn't flow or add any style to it. Like a 24" rear spoiler or Folgers coffee can exhaust on a front wheel drive car.

Good buy man! A hood is a hood. Ive seen people with aftermarket non-functional ram-air hoods and the last thing i think of is rice.

and another thing with the 5.0. Im getting my cowl hood in september and it will be covering the M112 that i will be installing on the 4.2 in May of next year.... anyways my truck is white/black combo so im going to have the side of the cowl black with SuperCharged 4.2 in white.Im doing it in the form of a black decal with the words cut into it!

BTW I'm one of the non-functional hood guys on here.
Enjoy your hood. Don't worry about haters, they wish they could have one.
You can always do performance mods later.

That hood is gonna look good on your truck. Who cares if others think it is ricey. As long as you like it, thats all that matters. Cant wait to see it on there.
