Will people laught at me?
not all HD's are supercharged. they are a little nicer on the inside but with a different gauge cluster and a few embroided stitches you to can have a harley. if thats what you want to do then do it. its your truck and only has to make you happy. if you want to take a rolls royce front end and put on it you are the only one that it has to please. if you look at it the way some are saying then why is everyone PTM headlights or darker ones (harley) harley grills or roush ( just a small difference in lines from harley) changing lower valance to look like the harley. every mod that you do will have to come from something else but its these mods and they way that are done to each truck that distinguishes them from each other. give two people the same exact color and year truck. give both 10,000 and no truck will look alike. nothing like choices. if you want a harley then build a harley. i have a lariat and friend of mine has an STX. His truck has all the features of mine but he only paid like 14,000 when he brought it. He has converted everything over to lariat specs and if you never seen it when he brought it you would never know it was the base model. we jokd him the last two years and kept asking why not just buy a lariat. he use to say im building my own custom lariat. that he did. probably cost him more but he feels like its nothing more satisfying than modding his truck
I also guess that I am getting old, tired, and cranky...
I am sorry, but your writing style gives me a headache. Maybe you have some excellent thoughts, and have made some valid points. I will not waste my time, nor make effort to decipher run on sentences without capitalization.

back in the day my buddy had a Softail Custom circa 1990--he also had
a Ford F150 that he painted orange with black stripes and a Harley Davidson Logo on the hood. No HD models back then, Ford jumped on the band wagon because of all the biker yuppy enthusiasts that "loved" their new shiney bikes and figured why not capitalize on this and put out an HD version. Personally, I like my buddies truck the best and THAT was a mod even by todays standards. You want to put an itty bitty badge on your truck to say you like Harleys, or better yet own one, then go right the F$%k ahead.
And you shouldn't give a **** about my opinion either.

Well... I ordered the headlights and the grill....
I think I'll leave the badges off for now because I think I would feel a bit like a poser.
But if anyone talks smack about my new grill and headlights ... they can bite me.
PEACE !
oh.. thanks for all the replies I loved reading them.

And maybe the occasional vehicle that needs the additional downforce for traction. Our trucks do not.
