Done with Appearance Mods! (Mostly....)

I was wanting to get some opinions on some of my appearance mods that I've added to my vehicle. So far I've added:

- Westin Bull Bar
- Westin Oval Nerf Bars
- Husky Mud Guards
- Delta Low Profile Toolbox
- Autospring 2.5" Leveling Kit

And Most Recently:

- HD Taillights
- Hella Blackout Headlights
- 35% Tint on Front 2 Windows and Fog Lights
- American Racing Mojave 17" Rims

Went from this:

To this:

And this:

To this:

My main question for you guys is, what (if anything) would you recommend next (appearance mods only please, a CAI and exhaust are already on my list). I do have a couple of things that I'm wondering about my vehicle:

#1 Obviously I need new tires (my stock Hankooks look pretty lame), just waiting until winter rolls around to put on a new set, most likely BFG T/A KO 285/70/17's.

#2 Originally I was going to completely blackout the vehicle (I think Blackout's vehicle looks great with the blacked out emblems). But the more I think about it, the chrome bumpers, emblems, and lugnuts kind of compliment each other (front chrome bumpers match the lower part of my bull bar, rear chrome bumpers match the chrome exhaust tips that I'll eventually get) I'm really not wanting to get rid of my chrome bumpers, but I'm afraid that if I blackout the emblems, the bumpers would look out of place, especially when viewed from the side.

#3 Thinking about getting a low-profile OEM bug deflector (the one with "F-150" printed on it) for the front of the vehicle. To me it seems like some more black in the front might be a good thing, what do you think?

#4 Maybe switching out the front grille. I actually really like the honeycomb grille, so I may just leave it as it is. The only other grilles that have caught my fancy are the Hella Grille with the lights built into it and the Saleen grille.

Again, I'm pretty happy with the changes I've made so far, just wanting to get a general consensus as to how I should finish the vehicle!

Thanks for any suggestions, even the ones I don't agree with!

All the mods so far look great!! The 285's will definitly look awesome. I just put some 285/70/17 Firestone Destination A/T's on my truck Tuesday and Love them. My truck looks huge now. At least to me. Now as for blacking out the truck. If you dont want to get rid of the chrome bumpers then maybe paint them black. I think that would look pretty sick and then paint the emblems and the bull bar. I also think the hella grill would look real good. I really like those Mojaves. Im thinking wheels will be my next big mod. So I was wondering what the specs are on them. Anyways the truck looks great..

Looks good, minus the rims. I like black rims, just not those. Otherwise rock on!

Hey Nettershakes,

Thanks for the suggestions/compliments! The Mojaves that I got are a 17x8 wheel, so pretty close to the stock rims that I had. If you decide to go with the Mojaves, I recommend the following site:

http://www.sporttruckspecialty.com/w...ave-teflon.htm

I emailed them with no response and was ready to look elsewhere, but luckily I decided to call them. The guy that I talked to was very nice and helpful. The shipping on my wheels was a little more per wheel that what the website says ($22.50 instead of $12.50), but I still got my 4 wheels for a total of $649.00, which was by far the cheapest price that I could find. Plus, if you're wanting to go 18" rims, it's not much more to get those, but I had decided that I like the big tire look more than the big wheel look. Also, I ordered the wheels on a Monday and I recevied them on Wednesday, so decent shipping time for sure!

Hey 05_sprcrw,

Yup, I've been living in Lincoln for the past 11 years or so (but like keeping my county plates from back home near Kearney). I'm starting a new job on Tuesday in Gretna (luckily I'm carpooling with a friend so gas won't be quite as bad) so I'll have to see how that commute goes, otherwise I may be moving to Gretna/West Omaha. I do like where I'm at now though -- between the football and baseball stadiums, so gamedays are definitely a blast!

looks good that leveling kit really made a difference, did you think about stealth bulbs for the signals in front headlights?? those orange ones really stick out with the black out headlights

What would be involved to get the bulbs black? I agree that they do stick out a little, though they don't bug me too much.

you wouldn't be able to get them black (not that i know of) but you could replace them with the stealth bulb which is just changing the blinker bulb. the stealth bulbs appear silver but they blink amber
