Angry New Billet Grill... A LIL PISSED

Ok here's the deal today I just got my new Billet Grill Upper and Lower Combo kit
That's the Happy part..

So I open it up the upper will work no problems looks GREAT!!

The Bumper Grill however says it's for an 05...
This is the bad part... I have an 06 so I don't have the factory bumper grill which according to the directions I need to bolt this to.

SO... My ? is. Is there a Bumper grill for a 2006 bumper or do I need to find a factory 05 plastic grill insert to install before I can do this??

Or if anyone has any ideas how I can install this with out one that would be awesome

I bought this set on Ebay for 80 bucks shipped from motorenergy.
Item: 04-06 FORD F150 6PC BILLET GRILLE GRILL+BUMPER COMBO
Part # 160249569199

Thanks in advance for the help!!

unfortunately i think you're deeper in the hole than you realize. 04-05 trucks have a small plastic mesh on either side of the lower grille, which is what i'm assuming your instructions are referring to. beginning in 06, the shape of the lower opening changed as well. so even if you had the lower factory grille like the 04-05's have, it still wouldn't work. sorry man. caveat emptor.

I just finished looking into this. If your production date is after 08/05 you have 06 or newer bumper components. The components don't criss cross and to get the brackets to fit for an 05 you need the 05 bumper assembly. A little input but it might help you out.

Why not call the ebayer and ask him to ship you the correct one?

I'm not sure if anyone makes one for 06+. No place to mount it and the opening is too small.

If they don't come through with something...
For the 80 bucks I spent on the set...

I will try and mod the lower grill and MAKE IT HAPPEN!!

If that dosen't work once I get the Bull Bar I guess you wouldn't really see the grill much anyways...

Hey Mr. eXtreme....

you never mentioned the brand of your grille ? I just ordered an upper and lower grille made by Carriageworks, and Autoanything.com had the lower grille listed as "workable with an 08' F150"... and "no cutting or drilling required". I'd be pissed if it didn't just bolt right up.

Hope you get yours figured out. That wide open space in the factory bumper looks weird to me.... Like Ford forgot to put something there. Yesterday, I noticed the same thing on the buimper of a new Mustang.

Hmmmm,
Fish

Honestly, I'm not sure the brand of the grill... :o
I bought this set on Ebay for 80 bucks shipped from Motorenergy though.

Looks like any other bolt on Billet grill I've seen just a few bugs to work out

But yeah What you said!! What was Ford Thinking...
