Are these headlight housings a 3 piece housing does anyone know, I want to black them out but I always did the DIY painting and dont want to spend 200 bucks for something I can do with a few hours and a can of paint???

New body style? Old body style? They made both in 2004.

 

newer body style, not gonna say its brand new but its not the older ones, I have the squared mirrors, ford emblem in the middle of the tailgate etc etc?

 

Ok you have a NBS. The headlights are not a 3 peice design. They are one peice. To paint them black like the harley headlights you need to take apart the head light. There are hundreds of threads on here about painting them yourself. Use the search feature and you will find all the info you need.

 

right but they can be taken apart right? and when you take them apart do you have 3 major components??

 

Yes they can be taken apart. There is the front clear plastic piece, then the chrome piece you can paint. The main reflector which you cant paint. And the back frame piece.
