The lowest I've found are for $245 (free shipping) on ebay, and $240 without shipping on another internet site though they're out of stock...

Hivoltagefx4, did you wire it yourself? I have absolutely no wiring experience. Also, I'd like to make one of the auxiliaries lower all four windows, and another raise them. Oh, and another thing I was thinking about doing is wiring up two 3" LED strips that "scan" left to right to the alarm and place them on the front door window sills as status lights. Then maybe, get a 15" one and wire it up as well placing it behind the grill...kind of like KnightRider, LOL (eventually my truck will be completely blacked out).

Actually this is a problem with most vehicles. A Jimmi jammer installer in my area said he has people coming in all the time with the handles being lifted then locks being punched......

two things thieves know about tinted windows

1. when they break the window there is no mess, it breaks out in one piece and it does it very quietly.
2. Tint normally means you have something to hide.

yes i plan to tint my windows, and yes i think tint looks good.

Those are the features I want, is the 5900 not capable of them? It's about a $100 gap between the two systems not including install. As much as I'd like to do it myself I don't have enough faith in myself to pull off an alarm, yet, so I'll have to pay for an install.

Actually it is capable of all of those features/options.

Theres a lot of people here (including myself) that could walk someone through it. But if you know you cant handle it, YOU ARE VERY SMART my friend. Getting deep into something you dont know how to do is not smart.

A friend of mine decided he should put his own alarm (Viper 571XV, I have 11 just laying around) in the other day. DUMB. All he had ever done is door speakers. Figured hes got it. I spent double the time it would take me to do that car just to get his car running again. (96 Toyota Celica).

HAHA, that sounds about my level of "expertise."

If you don't mind me asking, what are the major differences between the 5900 and the 7900, other than the color pager with animations? I looked at the Viper website and tried to compare the two but it's like trying to read hieroglyphics, and to me, they say pretty much the same darn thing.

true, however from my own experience i have found it much harder to break a tinted window than a non tinted one (no i'm not a thief, used to have an uncle wit a lot of junk cars sittin around his house)
